Whilst many businesses have and continue to suffer greatly due to the pandemic, many have been shut completely as a result of such. It is easy to look at this situation as complete disaster.
There are however some businesses experiencing the opposite situation and may have seen a growth spurt as a result of this global situation. Businesses across delivery and e-commerce have largely seen increases in business along with online tutoring and education, remote work and tech infrastructure such as SaaS and PasS.
Recently I was featured once again on the Benjamin Brain podcast ‘The Truth About Business’ in a special round table episode that focused on how businesses are coping during this period of uncertainty.
Event driven growth scenarios are not uncommon, whether a pandemic and certain industries pick up, a natural disaster and a specific product gets popular, a competitor struggles and shuts down and you end up with new business – these things occur.
Its important to stick to what your baseline of pre-pandemic business was in the first place, what is it you are the best at, what is your team world class at delivering. Some of the new found customers will stay, others may not, if you have experienced growth during this down turn – don’t take that for granted. If your business isn’t up to delivering the experience the customer needs they will go elsewhere as soon as another viable option appears.
